UNP union denounces institutional crisis left by outgoing government

The Asociación Sindical de Empleados de la Protección (ASEP) stated that the outgoing administration leaves a deep crisis at the National Protection Unit. The union responded to the vice president-elect's request to suspend new appointments and proposed a national work table.

In a statement, ASEP called for an integral review of the process to link 6,870 new positions. The organization noted that the discussion must ensure effective protection services and recognize the experience of current workers.

The union said it is essential to analyze the restructuring criteria with transparency. It stated that there is no university career to train escorts or risk evaluators in Colombia and that those skills are acquired through training and years of service.

ASEP proposed setting up a national work table with the incoming government. The goal is to present the scope of the restructuring and move forward with transparent criteria and employee participation.
