Sa Manila, Philippines, nagtaas ng red flags si artificial intelligence researcher Dominic Ligot tungkol sa coordinated inauthentic behavior sa comments section ng report sa Bilyonaryo.com noong March 13, 2026. Ang report ay tungkol sa posibleng pagpapalit kay ICT Secretary Henry Rhoel Aguda kay former presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda. Napansin ni Ligot na sa loob ng isang oras, lumitaw ang mga accounts na nagdi-dismiss ng artikulo bilang “fake news” sa iba't ibang paraan at seconds apart, na may identical creation dates at content—mga senyales ng troll farms o coordinated networks. Sa kanyang social media post na “Politics of Perception,” sinabi ni Ligot na ang mga accounts na ito ay sympathetic sa pagpapanatili ni Aguda at critical sa anumang pagpapalit sa kanya. “Our research shows that harm happens when narratives are boosted through coordinated networks or influence campaigns. A few posts can suddenly look like a mass movement. That can distort public debate. What we’re seeing here looks like a textbook example,” ani Ligot. Dagdag pa niya, “A news article appears. Then coordinated voices flood the conversation to reshape the narrative. Maybe it’s organic support. Maybe it’s not. But if amplification is happening to protect a government official, we have to ask a bigger question – where is the ethics?” Nang tatanungin ng The STAR, sumagot si Aguda: “I don’t know him. My mandate is to clean the internet of harmful and misleading content.” Hindi niya direktang tinugon ang mga concern ni Ligot. Ipinahayag din ni Ligot na ito ay nagtaas ng serious concerns sa ethical uses ng amplification sa internet.
