A villa in the countryside north of Habo was totally destroyed in a fire on Tuesday evening. Fire services could not save the house, but no one was injured. Police suspect negligence and have opened an investigation.
A fire broke out in a villa in the countryside north of Habo just before 6 p.m. on Tuesday evening, May 5. A large rescue force was dispatched to the scene to combat the blaze.
Police spokesperson Angelica Israelsson Silfver stated around 6:30 p.m.: “The whole house is fully ablaze, and the fire service is focusing on preventing spread to nearby buildings.” By 8 p.m., the fire was under control, but extinguishing efforts continued.
The house is totally destroyed. According to police, the fire is believed to have started on a deck and spread through the cladding. A preliminary investigation into gross negligence with fire has been initiated, and the site is cordoned off for forensic examination. No one is suspected of a crime, and no one was injured.
Fire services remained on site after 10 p.m. for overnight monitoring.
