A major fire broke out in an agricultural building south of Bälgviken in Eskilstuna on Tuesday. Police and rescue services moved horses from a nearby stable to prevent spread. The fire was under control around 6:30 p.m., with no injuries reported.
The alarm for the fire came at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, in an agricultural building south of Bälgviken in Eskilstuna. Most of the barn has burned down, said Patrik Johansson of the rescue service.
No people or animals were in the barn when the fire started. The building is used as storage space for vehicles, according to Johansson.
Police and rescue services worked to prevent the fire from spreading to other buildings and moved horses from a nearby stable. Around 6:30 p.m., the fire was under control.
"It is property that has been lost, but no personal injuries or damage to animals," said Patrik Johansson. The rescue service will continue extinguishing efforts into the evening and maintain a watch overnight.
