ABC a commandé une série intitulée The Rookie: North, un spin-off de la série policière à succès mettant en vedette Jay Ellis. La série suit Ellis dans le rôle d'Alex Holland, un homme qui rejoint le département de police du comté de Pierce en tant que plus vieille recrue après avoir été victime d'un cambriolage. La série sera composée de 10 épisodes et sera diffusée à la mi-saison.

Cette commande fait suite à la réalisation d'un pilote en novembre 2025. Alexi Hawley, créateur de la série originale The Rookie, a écrit et réalisé l'épisode pilote et officie en tant que producteur exécutif aux côtés de la star Nathan Fillion. Fillion devrait également apparaître dans le pilote dans le rôle de son personnage John Nolan, ouvrant ainsi la voie à de futurs crossovers entre les deux programmes.
