Arthur Fils abandonne blessé à Rome à deux semaines de Roland-Garros

Le numéro un français Arthur Fils a dû abandonner samedi face à Andrea Pellegrino lors du Masters 1000 de Rome en raison d'une douleur à la hanche.

Fils, 21 ans et 17e mondial, a jeté l'éponge après 22 minutes de jeu au deuxième tour alors qu'il était mené 4-0. Il avait ressenti une douleur à la hanche dès le deuxième jeu et fait appel au kiné sans succès.

Le Français a expliqué sa décision en ces termes : « J’ai senti une douleur à la hanche au deuxième jeu. Malheureusement, j’ai dû arrêter un peu après. Il ne fallait juste pas prendre de risques avant Roland. »

Blessé au dos pendant huit mois entre août 2025 et février 2026, Fils avait retrouvé sa forme avec un titre à Barcelone et des demi-finales à Miami et Madrid. Roland-Garros débute le 24 mai.
