Arthur Fils si ritira per infortunio dal torneo di Roma a due settimane dal Roland-Garros

Il tennista francese Arthur Fils si è ritirato sabato durante il match contro Andrea Pellegrino al Masters 1000 di Roma a causa di un dolore all'anca.

Fils, 21 anni e numero 17 del ranking, si è ritirato dopo 22 minuti di gioco nel secondo turno, mentre era sotto 4-0. Ha avvertito dolore all'anca nel secondo game e, nonostante le cure ricevute, non è riuscito a proseguire.

Il francese ha spiegato la sua scelta: "Ho sentito un dolore all'anca nel secondo game. Purtroppo ho dovuto fermarmi poco dopo. Non aveva senso correre rischi prima del Roland Garros".

Dopo uno stop di otto mesi dovuto a un infortunio alla schiena, occorso tra l'agosto 2025 e il febbraio 2026, Fils era tornato a ottimi livelli con la vittoria del titolo a Barcellona e le semifinali raggiunte a Miami e Madrid. Il Roland-Garros inizierà il 24 maggio.
