Southern Sweden is forecast to see warmer than normal temperatures early in August while the north will face cooler weather with possible frost. Meteorologist Lasse Rydqvist from the weather app Klart warns of ongoing water shortages in the south due to dry conditions.
Southern Sweden may see temperatures above normal as high pressure ridges settle over southern Scandinavia. Dry weather is also expected which could worsen water shortages in Götaland and eastern Svealand.
Northern Sweden will see delayed warmth with cooler than normal conditions early in the month. Temperatures could drop below zero in exposed areas and cold hollows in the far north.
Normal temperatures are expected in the north only by mid-August. Lasse Rydqvist recommends keeping rain gear handy as local showers may occur during the typically rainy month.
