A high-pressure system from the south is expected to bring temperatures above 30 degrees in southeastern Sweden from Thursday, according to SMHI.

Meteorologist Erik Höjgård-Olsen at SMHI says the high pressure reaches southern Sweden on Thursday and will persist at least through the week.

It is mainly in the southeastern parts of the country where temperatures could exceed 30 degrees. In the rest of Götaland and Svealand, just over 25 degrees are expected, while Norrland's coast and inland areas will see just over 20 degrees.

After the Midsummer weekend it will first turn cooler, but the heat returns according to the forecast. Meteorologist Emma Rosengren at SMHI expects a sunny week.
