Un garçon se noie dans une piscine sans surveillance au nord de Delhi

Un garçon de 10 ans nommé Sanskar Verma s'est noyé dimanche matin dans une piscine résidentielle à Wazirabad. La police a déclaré que la piscine ne disposait ni de maîtres-nageurs, ni des mesures de sécurité requises. Une procédure pour homicide involontaire a été ouverte contre le propriétaire.

Sanskar, élève de 6e année originaire de Sushant Vihar à Burari, se trouvait avec un groupe d'environ 18 enfants à la piscine. Il est entré dans la partie profonde et est resté inaperçu jusqu'à ce que des garçons plus âgés le trouvent inconscient au fond du bassin. Il a été sorti de l'eau et transporté à l'hôpital, mais a été déclaré mort.

Le commissaire adjoint de la police (Nord), Raja Banthia, a confirmé que des poursuites judiciaires ont été engagées contre le propriétaire de la piscine. Les agents du commissariat de Wazirabad ont constaté que la piscine fonctionnait sans les dispositifs de sécurité obligatoires. Une enquête pour homicide involontaire a été ouverte.

Le père de Sanskar, Neeraj, a déclaré avoir payé 250 roupies pour que ses fils puissent profiter de la piscine après avoir été informé de la sortie. Il a allégué que plusieurs piscines illégales de ce type fonctionnent dans la zone sans gardiens qualifiés. La police examine actuellement les images de vidéosurveillance des environs alors que l'enquête se poursuit.
