BRIS: Children more vulnerable during summer vacation

BRIS warns that children's vulnerability increases during the ten-week summer vacation. The organization urges adults to pay extra attention and dare to ask questions.

Most children and young people currently have a long summer vacation. Pleasant for many, but also a time when calls to BRIS increase.

BRIS emphasizes that adults have a great responsibility. If one suspects that a child in one's surroundings is affected by mental illness or is subjected to family conflicts such as domestic violence, it is important to show care, have patience and act.

– The most important thing is to be present in children's lives and above all to dare to ask, says Jennifer Pettersson, counselor at BRIS.

– It is better to ask one time too much than one time too little, she adds.
