Hong Kong's Observatory announced on Saturday that a trough of low pressure over central China is developing into a cold front approaching from Guangdong's coast. Sunday morning will see sunny intervals, but showers will increase with squally thunderstorms later that day, heavier in some areas.

“Locally, there will be sunny intervals [on Sunday] morning. Showers will increase with squally thunderstorms later [that day], and will be heavier in some areas,” the forecaster said.

Temperatures will drop progressively at night to a minimum of around 21 degrees Celsius (69.8 Fahrenheit) on Monday morning. The Observatory urged the public to keep an eye on weather changes and check for updates when planning outdoor activities.

This forecast comes as the cold front sweeps across the region, prompting calls for vigilance.
