Keymer seul en tête du Grenke Chess Freestyle Open

Le grand maître allemand Vincent Keymer s'est emparé de la tête du classement du Grenke Chess Freestyle Open après avoir battu Hans Niemann et fait match nul contre Magnus Carlsen au cours du week-end. Vincent Keymer a su tirer profit d'une erreur tactique de Hans Niemann lors de la sixième ronde pour s'imposer à partir d'une position de départ symétrique. Keymer a expliqué cet oubli, notant que le placement de la dame de Niemann en d3 l'a probablement distrait du coup de cavalier menaçant. Plusieurs rencontres de haut niveau se sont soldées par des nulles, notamment celles opposant Carlsen à Sarana et Nepomniachtchi à Vachier-Lagrave, en raison de l'équilibre sur l'échiquier dû à la présence de fous de couleurs opposées.
