Lambchop annonce un nouvel album et des dates de tournée

Le groupe de Nashville Lambchop a dévoilé son nouvel album Punching the Clown ainsi qu'une série de dates de tournée en Amérique du Nord et en Europe. Le disque a été produit par Ryan Olson et comprend Justin Vernon au banjo. Le premier single, Weakened, est désormais disponible.

Lambchop a enregistré l'album au studio April Base dans le Wisconsin. Kurt Wagner, le leader du groupe, s'est inspiré des traditions du « lined out singing » ancrées dans la musique gospel écossaise et appalachienne. Il a décrit ce style comme une forme spontanée de chant a cappella en appel et réponse, qui met l'accent sur la puissance brute de la voix humaine. Wagner a souligné dans un communiqué de presse que le public semble beaucoup apprécier le single Weakened, qui inclut une chorale de six personnes et des castagnettes comme seule percussion sur tout l'album. Cet album succède à la sortie du groupe en 2022 intitulée The Bible.
