Lambchop utannonserar nytt album och turnédatum

Nashville-bandet Lambchop har presenterat sitt nya album Punching the Clown tillsammans med en rad turnédatum i Nordamerika och Europa. Skivan är producerad av Ryan Olson och gästas av Justin Vernon på banjo. Den första singeln Weakened finns nu tillgänglig.

Lambchop spelade in albumet i studion April Base i Wisconsin. Kurt Wagner, bandets frontfigur, fann inspiration i sångtraditioner som bygger på "lined out"-sång, med rötter i skotsk och appalachisk gospelmusik. Han beskrev stilen som en spontan form av a cappella-sång baserad på call and response, som betonar den mänskliga röstens råa kraft. Wagner påpekade i ett pressmeddelande att folk verkar uppskatta singeln Weakened mycket, vilken inkluderar en kör på sex personer och kastanjetter som enda slagverk på hela skivan. Albumet följer upp bandets utgåva The Bible från 2022.
