Linköping's Broc Little responds to Robin Kovács' criticism

Linköping HC sporting director Broc Little has addressed criticism from forward Robin Kovács, who expressed disappointment over the club's refusal to renegotiate his contract. Amid reports of a verbal agreement for a high-value move to AIK, Little emphasized ongoing discussions with the player's agent. He insisted there is no drama in the situation.

Robin Kovács, coming off his strongest scoring season in the SHL, voiced frustration with Linköping HC for not offering a higher salary through contract renegotiations. According to Expressen, the forward has verbally agreed to a long-term deal with AIK worth around 350,000 kronor per month, paving the way for a return to the club. Kovács still holds a valid contract with Linköping for the current term. Little, speaking to Corren, took a measured tone on the matter. “We have a dialogue with Robin's agent in the same way as we do with all players. We analyze and try to make the best decisions for the club. I understand that there are always expectations from both sides, but I don't think it's anything dramatic,” he said. Asked if the door remains open for Kovács in Linköping, Little replied: “Right now, Robin has a valid contract with us. I won't comment on rumors or speculation. If or when something happens, we can address it then.” The sporting director noted that renegotiating the contract was not on the table from the club's perspective. He stressed that such discussions are routine in negotiations between clubs, agents, and players, and that everyone is entitled to their opinions without any wrongdoing on Linköping's part.
