Le sommet Afrique-France à Nairobi réunira 4000 délégués et 30 présidents

Nairobi accueillera un sommet majeur Afrique-France du 11 au 12 mai, réunissant pour la première fois plus de 4000 délégués et 30 présidents africains dans un pays non francophone.

Le sommet, co-organisé par le président kenyan William Ruto et le président français Emmanuel Macron, se concentrera sur la réforme de la dette, le changement climatique, la paix et la sécurité, ainsi que sur la technologie et l'innovation. Parmi les participants attendus figurent le Secrétaire général des Nations Unies, António Guterres, et la Directrice générale du FMI, Kristalina Georgieva.

Le Kenya a annoncé des mesures de sécurité importantes, avec des fermetures de routes affectant City Hall Way, Parliament Road, Harambee Avenue et Taifa Road à partir de la nuit du 11 mai. Le commandant de la police de Nairobi, Issa Mohamud, a déclaré que les agents se coordonneraient avec les Forces de défense du Kenya, le National Youth Service, ainsi que les équipes de sécurité françaises et onusiennes, en appelant à la coopération du public.

D'autres perturbations de la circulation sont attendues sur des axes tels que Mombasa Road, Lang’ata Road, Thika Road, Limuru Road et Kiambu Road jusqu'au 12 mai en raison des déplacements des personnalités officielles.
