After many complaints, a nighttime driving ban has been introduced on Västra Varvsgatan in Västra Hamnen. Signs were put up at lunchtime and it is now the first night with the ban in place. Residents have divided opinions on the decision.
Technical committee chairman Andreas Schönström (S) changed his mind after complaints about high speeds during the summer. It had been free to drive at night but the fine weather attracted drivers.
The couple Björn Schoug, 73, and Inger Carrasco, 73, live on Skeppsgatan. They are disturbed by people driving fast and compare it to a rally.
Among residents, opinions are divided on whether the ban solves the problems or creates new ones.
