Un petit garçon d'un an est décédé après qu'un conducteur en délit de fuite a percuté la voiture de sa famille à Playa Del Rey, en Californie. L'accident a également coûté la vie à son oncle et a fait deux autres blessés.

L'incident s'est produit tôt dimanche matin alors que la famille rentrait chez elle après une journée à la plage. Selon la police de Los Angeles, un Jeep Cherokee blanc s'est déporté sur la voie opposée sur Vista Del Mar Avenue et est entré en collision avec la BMW bleue à bord de laquelle se trouvaient Roger Sandoval Farias, ses parents et son oncle Oswaldo Sandoval Amaya, âgé de 25 ans. Le conducteur a pris la fuite à pied après avoir abandonné son véhicule.
