Une partie d'un chawl s'est effondrée dans le quartier de Mankhurd à Mumbai dimanche soir sous des pluies torrentielles, faisant six morts.

Dimanche soir, vers 20 heures, une partie d'un chawl de trois étages sur rez-de-chaussée s'est effondrée à Janata Nagar, dans le quartier de Mankhurd. Selon la BMC, l'incident a eu lieu derrière le temple Hanuman, au niveau du chawl numéro cinq.

Des équipes de pompiers, de la police et du personnel municipal de la BMC se sont rendues sur place pour secourir les personnes piégées. Les blessés ont été transportés à l'hôpital Rajawadi et à l'hôpital Shatabdi.

L'hôpital Shatabdi a déclaré le décès d'une femme de 32 ans et de quatre enfants âgés de deux à 14 ans. Un garçon de sept ans est décédé pendant son traitement à l'hôpital Rajawadi, tandis qu'un homme de 24 ans est dans un état stable.
