This brings the total number of cases this season to 60, as reported on March 21. Officials are controlling access to the farm, culling about 12,000 birds, and investigating the outbreak. A 24-hour standstill order has been issued for areas neighboring the farm. Amid the seasonal migration of birds toward the end of winter, the government has ordered a special inspection of poultry farms nationwide this month to prevent further spread. Recent prior reports noted the total rising to 55, 53, and 51 cases.
