Un récent sondage réalisé par OCTA Research révèle que 71 % des Philippins estiment que les exercices militaires conjoints en mer des Philippines occidentales seront bénéfiques pour le pays.

L'enquête, menée du 19 au 25 mars et commandée par les forces armées philippines, montre un taux de soutien de 71 %. Quatorze pour cent ont déclaré que les exercices seraient préjudiciables, tandis que sept pour cent n'ont vu aucun effet. L'étude a interrogé 1 200 personnes et présente une marge d'erreur de plus ou moins trois pour cent. Les résultats ont été publiés à la demande des forces armées philippines. OCTA Research a indiqué que ces conclusions ont des répercussions sur la politique de défense et a souligné la nécessité d'une communication publique plus inclusive à travers les régions.
