Head of the East Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department Harlem Simanjuntak personally apologized to online motorcycle taxi driver Sulis Agung Wibowo after officers towed his motorcycle.
Harlem visited Sulis at his home on Saturday 20 June 2026. He delivered the apology for the incident that took place on Jalan Jatinegara Timur in front of J-Town on Wednesday 17 June 2026.
The enforcement operation targeted vehicles parked on sidewalks rather than in official spots. Sulis arrived after his motorcycle had already been loaded onto the tow truck.
Harlem said the event would serve as an evaluation to make future enforcement more humane. He also explained the chronology to the driver and the public.
