Indonesia's Director General of Land Transportation, Aan Suhanan, conducted a surprise inspection at the Green SM taxi depot in Bekasi on April 28, 2026 evening to check compliance with the Public Transport Company Safety Management System (SMK PAU). The raid followed a fatal crash near Bekasi Timur Station involving a Green SM electric taxi. Several findings will be further investigated at the central depot in Kemayoran.
The surprise inspection targeted the Green SM Bekasi depot, the operational base of the vehicle suspected in the April 27, 2026 evening crash between KRL Cikarang and KA Argo Bromo Anggrek. Checks focused on documentation, vehicle roadworthiness, fleet readiness, and other safety elements.
"In public transport operations, several elements must comply with SMK PAU. We conducted the raid to ensure all safety aspects are implemented," Aan Suhanan said on April 29, 2026.
Director of Road Transport Facilities and Safety, Yusuf Nugroho, who led the inspection, stated it aligns with Ministry of Transportation Regulation No. 85 of 2018. "In case of incidents, the Directorate General of Land Transportation can conduct audits and inspections," Yusuf said.
Aan noted initial findings will be deepened at the Kemayoran central depot in Jakarta. The ministry is coordinating with police and KNKT. The involved vehicle, plate B 2864 SBX, is registered valid until October 2026 in Jabodetabek.
Green SM pledged support for the investigation and expressed condolences. The crash killed 15 people, mostly women in the KRL's rear carriage, and injured dozens. The crossing lacked official gates.
