Mastercard launches World Legend line for premium clients in Colombia

Mastercard announced the launch of its premium World Legend category in Colombia. Bancolombia will be the first bank to offer these cards aimed at high-net-worth clients.

Today Mastercard officially launched its World Legend credit cards in Colombia. They target high-net-worth and private banking clients, offering exclusive benefits in travel, gastronomy and entertainment.

The new line will be available between June and July through financial allies. It is the third country in the region to offer it, after Brazil and Mexico.

Bancolombia, of Grupo Cibest, announced it will incorporate the cards in its portfolio. Mauricio Rosillo, corporate vice president of business at Bancolombia, said they seek to expand international benefits for their clients.

Gabriel Hencker, product director for Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador, noted the premium segment bills five times more than an average card. Between August and September the Taste by Priceless lounge will open at Bogotá's El Dorado airport.

Those registering before April 6 will enter raffles for over $40 million in prizes, plus a trip for two to a Colombia soccer match this year.

Mastercard and Mis Propias Finanzas have announced an alliance to boost financial education in Colombia, starting with a podcast episode on March 28. Federico Martínez, Mastercard's regional president, will be the special guest.

According to Superintendencia Financiera data as of February 27, 43.6% of credits disbursed in Colombia went to women, amounting to $2.81 billion. Consumption and housing are the main sectors where women seek bank loans. Banks like Bancolombia note that women demonstrate greater responsibility in debt repayment.

Bancolombia announced a $650 billion loan to Grupo Sura tied to sustainable performance indicators. The loan rewards the company's high maturity in ASG practices. Key metrics are verified by third parties to adjust financial terms.

La Rana Dorada, a Panamanian brand with 16 years of history, has opened its first store in Bogotá's Usaquén neighborhood. The 300-square-meter space features a youthful and tropical atmosphere, including an outdoor garden and recreational activities. The opening was attended by several local figures.

Bancolombia announced it will open all its offices on Saturday, February 28, to support users following the week's complications. Schedules vary by region, with Bogotá service from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and the rest of the country from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The move addresses infrastructure damage from the previous Sunday.
