Remedy reports Control sales exceed 6 million copies

Remedy Entertainment announced that its 2019 title Control has now sold over 6 million copies lifetime. The company reaffirmed that the sequel, Control Resonant, remains on track for a 2026 release. This update came in the developer's Q1 2026 business review following a challenging 2025.

Remedy Entertainment's business review for January to March 2026 highlighted strong ongoing performance from Control. The game retained solid sales momentum in the first quarter, outperforming the same period last year, driven by promotions and visibility from the upcoming Control Resonant. Lifetime sales have now surpassed 6 million copies, up from 5 million reported a few months earlier. The company recently released a port for iPhone and iPad, contributing to this growth. New CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon noted that revenue from game sales and royalties increased, thanks to titles including Control, Alan Wake 2, and FBC: Firebreak. Despite a slight revenue dip to €13.1 million, operating profit stood at €1.0 million with a 7.8% margin. Gaudechon, who took over in February from EA, emphasized protecting what makes Remedy special as it nears the launch of Control Resonant on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The year 2025 proved difficult after FBC: Firebreak's failure, leading to the end of its development in March and the departure of former CEO Tero Virtala. Remedy is also advancing Max Payne 1 & 2 remakes to full production and a third project to proof-of-concept.
