In the trial following last month's indictment, a man in Ångermanland is accused of gross pimping by selling his wife for sex to over 120 men via Swish payments exceeding one million kronor. The prosecutor now seeks forfeiture of 507,000 kronor as crime proceeds. The trial, behind closed doors at Ångermanlands tingsrätt, is ongoing and set to last 14 days.
The man faces charges of gross pimping, eight counts of rape, four attempted rapes, assault, and unlawful threats. Police financial investigation shows payments totaling 1,014,000 kronor, with buyers paying 1,500–3,000 kronor per encounter.
He denies all charges and appeared at trial with his attorney, Martina Michaelsdotter Olsson. Prosecutors allege he controlled the woman by calling himself “the monster” and using threats. New evidence was presented just before the trial began.
"The crime proceeds are calculated based on the financial investigation," the prosecutor's motion states, demanding forfeiture of 507,000 kronor.
Victim counsel Silvia Ingolfsdottir called the crimes "as close to human trafficking as it gets." The woman, now at a secret location, expressed relief at the trial's start. Proceedings continue on Wednesday.
