Colombia's coffee production falls again in November

Colombia's coffee production dropped 28% in November 2025 compared to the previous year. The Federation of Coffee Growers' manager attributed the decline to adverse weather conditions impacting flowering and grain filling. Despite the setback, the sector remains resilient with stable exports and prices.

Germán Bahamón, general manager of the National Federation of Coffee Growers (FNC), reported that national coffee production in November 2025 reached 1.26 million 60-kg bags. This marks a 28% decline from November 2024, continuing the downward trend observed in October. Bahamón noted that the production adjustment in the second half of the year stems from weather conditions that curtailed flowering and grain-filling capacity in fields.

For the July-to-December period, accumulated output is estimated at about 7.1 million bags, reflecting a 12% drop compared to the same timeframe in 2024. This forecast drew from inspections and measurements across over 2,000 coffee farms, predicting a loss of nearly 1 million bags.

Despite the semester ending with reduced supply, Bahamón pointed to steady domestic consumption and exports as signs of sector resilience. "The immediate task will be to capitalize on this price stability while advancing fertilization, renewal, and industrial scaling," he stated. Such efforts aim to counter climate impacts and pave the way for future recovery.
