Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched Dust Portal 2.0 on Monday to monitor dust at construction sites using artificial intelligence.
The Delhi Pollution Control Committee developed the platform for sites of 500 square yards or larger. It maps locations, evaluates five dust control parameters and links each site to the nearest air quality station.
Alerts in yellow, orange and red will be issued automatically when pollution rises, allowing agencies to respond quickly. Project proponents can also perform self-assessments through the system.
Gupta said the government is using AI to simplify compliance and make enforcement more transparent. Work is under way to digitise the challan process so notices can be issued directly via the portal.
Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa added that the system will enable real-time monitoring and strict action against repeat offenders.
