The Entertainment Software Association released its annual Essential Facts survey on June 3, showing that 67 percent of Americans play video games. Notably, 32 percent of those aged 81 to 90 participate weekly.
The survey polled 13,545 people across the United States. It reports a total of 212.3 million players, marking a 3 percent increase from the previous year. This year's report provides a more detailed age breakdown than prior editions. Among those in the 81 to 90 range, 7 percent use modern consoles, 39 percent play on PC, and 84 percent game on mobile devices. Puzzle games lead among older players at 74 percent, followed by skill and chance titles at 53 percent. The data also notes that many in this group began gaming in earlier decades.
