Al-Sisi inaugura il progetto New Delta con investimenti vicini agli 800 miliardi di EGP

Il presidente egiziano Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi ha inaugurato domenica a Giza il progetto agricolo New Delta. L'iniziativa fa parte degli sforzi per espandere i terreni agricoli e migliorare la sicurezza alimentare.

Il progetto mira a bonificare e coltivare circa 2,2 milioni di feddan utilizzando acqua di drenaggio agricolo trattata. Include vaste infrastrutture come stazioni di pompaggio dell'acqua, strade e impianti elettrici.

Secondo una dichiarazione della presidenza egiziana, gli investimenti totali hanno raggiunto quasi 800 miliardi di EGP. I costi di sviluppo variano tra 350.000 e 400.000 EGP per feddan e il progetto comprende circa 12.000 chilometri di strade.

Al-Sisi ha osservato che sono state costruite 19 grandi stazioni di pompaggio e centrali elettriche con una capacità combinata di circa 2.000 megawatt. Si prevede che l'iniziativa creerà circa due milioni di posti di lavoro sostenibili, con le aziende del settore privato che si occuperanno della coltivazione.
