Ethiopian customs commission collects over 600 billion birr in 10 months

The Ethiopian Customs Commission collected 600 billion 233 million birr over the past 10 months of the budget year. Commissioner Dr. Debele Qabeta stated that this represents 100.2 percent of the target.

Commissioner Dr. Debele Qabeta credited ongoing reform efforts for the achievement.

The performance shows a 256 billion birr increase compared to the same period last year. The commission prevented the loss of 228.7 billion birr to illegal activities.

In operations against contraband and trade fraud, authorities presented 1,295 individuals to the law.
