Die äthiopische Zollbehörde hat in den vergangenen 10 Monaten des Haushaltsjahres 600 Milliarden 233 Millionen Birr eingenommen. Kommissar Dr. Debele Qabeta erklärte, dass dies 100,2 Prozent des angestrebten Ziels entspreche.

Kommissar Dr. Debele Qabeta führte den Erfolg auf die laufenden Reformbemühungen zurück. Das Ergebnis stellt einen Anstieg um 256 Milliarden Birr im Vergleich zum Vorjahreszeitraum dar. Die Behörde konnte den Verlust von 228,7 Milliarden Birr durch illegale Aktivitäten verhindern. Im Rahmen von Operationen gegen Schmuggel und Handelsbetrug wurden 1.295 Personen den Strafverfolgungsbehörden übergeben.
