Florida man gets 73 years for killing three children in hit-and-run

A Florida driver has been sentenced to 73 years in prison after pleading no contest to killing three children in a 2021 crash.

Sean Greer received the sentence this week in Broward County court for the deaths of 6-year-old Andrea Fleming, 5-year-old Paris Jones and 9-year-old Laziyah "Minnie" Stukes.

The crash occurred on December 27, 2021, when Greer, then 27, tried to pass a stopped bus on Powerline Road in Wilton Manors. His vehicle veered onto the sidewalk, striking six children before he fled the scene.

Investigators later linked Greer to the crash through debris and witness statements. He admitted driving home from Walmart and leaving because he was on probation with a suspended license.

Family members addressed Greer in court. Laziyah's mother told him their children had been on the sidewalk, not the road.
