MotoGP Mandalika 2026 set for October 9-11 to boost economy and tourism

The government and stakeholders have confirmed readiness for the MotoGP event at Mandalika International Circuit on October 9-11 2026. The race is seen as a driver for economic growth, tourism, and national sports talent development.

At a press conference in Jakarta on June 18 2026, Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir said MotoGP has delivered proven real impact for Indonesia. He noted verified growth in spectators, economic contribution, and creation of racing talent from previous editions.

The minister stressed that sport tourism serves as one engine of new economic growth. The global sport tourism market is currently valued at around 625 billion US dollars and is projected to rise to 2.7 trillion US dollars in coming years.

InJourney President Director Maya Watono said the MotoGP event has also raised the quality of local human resources. All marshals are now drawn from NTB communities, with some exported to Japan and Malaysia. Official tickets are on sale from 200,000 rupiah for early-bird categories up to 1.75 million rupiah for standard tickets.
