Persija Jakarta secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Bhayangkara FC in a postponed week 8 Super League match on Monday night, December 29, 2025, at Stadion Utama Gelora Bung Karno in Jakarta. Goals came from Allano Lima's penalty, an own goal by Putu Gede, and Jordi Amat's strike. The win propelled Persija to third place in the standings with 32 points.
The match drew thousands of Jakmania fans filling the GBK Stadium. Persija took control from the start, though Bhayangkara packed their defense in the first half. The first goal came in the 45+5th minute after a foul on Eksel Runtukahu in the penalty area. Allano Lima converted the penalty with a left-footed shot to the left side of the goal, giving Persija a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, Persija maintained their dominance. At the 62nd minute, a precise cross from Bruno Tubarão was misjudged by Putu Gede, resulting in an own goal that made it 2-0. The final goal arrived in the 78th minute from Jordi Amat, who unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box.
Interim Persija coach Ricky Nelson, standing in for the suspended Mauricio Souza, welcomed the win positively. "We are very grateful. In the first half, we struggled a bit because Bhayangkara played differently than we expected. They stacked players in the defensive area, which made it quite difficult for us," Ricky said. He added that the penalty was a turning point, opening up space for attacks in the second half.
Meanwhile, Bhayangkara coach Paul Munster delivered a harsh evaluation of his team's performance. The loss extended their poor run, with only one point from their last four games, leaving them 10th with 19 points. "Playing against a good team is always tough. It shows the quality of the players and the team. If they can step up, great. But for some players, this level might be too high," Munster stated.
Bhayangkara captain Dendy Sulistyawan expressed disappointment. "Honestly, we can't accept this string of losses. But we realize Persija and Persib have quality because they're competing for the title," he said.
This victory is vital for Persija, now lurking behind league leaders Persib Bandung (34 points) and Borneo FC (34 points). The Super League has one more postponed match: Arema FC vs Persita Tangerang on December 30, 2025.
