Raúl Rabadán rinuncia alla direzione scientifica del CNIO

Il dottor Raúl Rabadán ha deciso di non assumere l'incarico di direttore scientifico presso il Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Oncológicas (CNIO), nonostante la selezione unanime avvenuta nel settembre 2025.

Il Ministero della Scienza, dell'Innovazione e delle Università ha dichiarato di rispettare la decisione di Rabadán, pur rammaricandosene. Il fisico e bioinformatico, che è stato docente alla Columbia University, era stato selezionato il 4 settembre 2025 in seguito a un concorso aperto ad aprile. Il ministero porterà al Consiglio di Amministrazione del CNIO, previsto per l'8 giugno, le misure necessarie per garantire che le funzioni della direzione scientifica rimangano pienamente coperte. Rabadán, che non aveva ancora assunto l'incarico a causa di questioni amministrative in sospeso, ha confermato le proprie dimissioni senza rilasciare ulteriori commenti. Rabadán è laureato in Fisica e ha conseguito un dottorato presso l'Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, con precedenti esperienze lavorative presso l'Institute for Advanced Study di Princeton e il CERN.
