Ask.com, once known as Ask Jeeves, has officially closed its doors. The search engine ended operations on May 1, 2026, as its owner sharpens business focus. The shutdown marks the end of a 25-year run in answering online queries.

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers has started accepting applications for new top-level domains. This marks the first opportunity in 14 years for individuals and groups to secure custom internet addresses.
