Solid Snake joins Rainbow Six Siege in Operation Silent Hunt

Ubisoft has announced that Solid Snake from the Metal Gear Solid series will become a playable operator in Rainbow Six Siege with the launch of Operation Silent Hunt on March 3, 2026. The crossover features the character's stealth abilities and a team-up with Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell. David Hayter reprises his role as Snake's voice actor.
Konami has removed Metal Gear Solid 4: Sons of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker from the PS3 digital store, while Peace Walker was also delisted from the Xbox Store, shortly after announcing the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2. The collection, revealed at Sony's State of Play earlier this year, will include these titles along with Metal Gear Ghost Babel for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Owned copies of the games remain playable on their respective platforms.

Konami producer Noriaki Okamura has shared that remaking Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots would pose significant challenges. This comes as the company considers future projects following the release of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Okamura noted the technical hurdles in modernizing the game's original assets.
