Cimahi Mayor Ngatiyana has responded to the deactivation of 19,356 residents from the National Health Insurance program under the Premium Assistance Recipients segment by the Ministry of Social Affairs. He expressed concerns for chronic patients, such as those undergoing dialysis, and plans to communicate with the central government. The local health department head assures quick reactivation due to the city's Universal Health Coverage status.
Cimahi Mayor Ngatiyana acknowledged receiving information about the deactivation of 19,356 residents from the National Health Insurance (JKN) program under the Premium Assistance Recipients (PBI) segment of BPJS Kesehatan by the Ministry of Social Affairs. This was stated while he was in Utama Ward, South Cimahi District, on Tuesday (10/2/2026).
"Indeed, the deactivation of our PBI is around 19 thousand. This is a challenge for all of us, but we will also find the best way out," said Ngatiyana.
He expressed concern over the impact on patients requiring routine treatment, such as dialysis. "I am also worried that patients, for example those undergoing dialysis and so on, might not be able to get treatment. We will also communicate with the central government on how to resolve this," he stated.
Ngatiyana instructed hospitals not to refuse patients, especially those who are economically disadvantaged. "We continue to serve them, no rejection of patients. So we still serve because that's our capacity, as strong as possible we must be strong. We must be able," he said.
Cimahi City Health Department Head Mulyati explained that the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) status allows for immediate reactivation without a 14-day wait. As of December 2025, JKN participation in Cimahi reached 98.25 percent or 574,000 individuals out of the total population, with 100,564 registered by the city government as Non-Wage Workers and Non-Workers.
Affected residents, particularly in emergencies, can visit the Public Service Mall (MPP) on Aruman Street with photocopies of ID card (KTP), family card (KK), Certificate of Indigency (SKTM), inpatient or outpatient risk certificate, and recommendation from the social services, per Mayor's Regulation Number 7 of 2025. Verification will be conducted with the Social Services based on poverty deciles.
Nationally, this deactivation is part of efforts to ensure aid targets deciles 1-5 of the National Social and Economic Single Data, with total PBI participants remaining at 96.8 million since May 2025.
