The Plön district court discontinued proceedings against a 43-year-old spectator for assault following a football tournament at the Schiffsthalhalle. The incident occurred two years ago after a match between FSG Saxonia II and SG Dobersdorf/Probsteierhagen II. The parties presented conflicting accounts of the events.
The incident took place in February two years ago during a county league match at the Schiffsthalhalle in Plön. After SG Dobersdorf/Probsteierhagen II's victory over FSG Saxonia II, a confrontation arose on the stands between a 43-year-old Saxonia fan from Kreis Segeberg and two opposing players, aged 25 and 30.
The defendant, a dedicated Saxonia supporter, told the court that the players showed him the middle finger and muttered 'Hurensohn' on their way back to the stands. 'Then one hit my glasses off my head,' he reported. This led to a brawl involving punches, neck grabs, and shoving. His 27-year-old nephew confirmed the insult and the glasses strike, describing an unpleasant atmosphere. He unsuccessfully tried to pull his uncle from the crowd.
The victims gave a different account. The 25-year-old said: 'It was a heated game, as is usual in this league.' The defendant had insulted them, which he smiled off. Later, the 43-year-old grabbed him by the neck and pressed him against the wall. The 30-year-old rushed to help and was knocked down by a punch: 'Then the lights went out for me.' Police documented red marks on the victims' necks and heads, as well as scratches on the defendant's neck.
A police officer attending the tournament privately separated the parties through decisive intervention. The judge and prosecutor were puzzled by the exact sequence, as the statements were credible but contradictory. Since the incident was two years ago and the defendant has no prior convictions, the proceedings were discontinued. He must pay 500 euros to the 'Sport gegen Gewalt' initiative, with all parties agreeing.
