On Monday, December 1, 2025, Inara Rusli officially reported Insanul Fahmi to Polda Metro Jaya for alleged fraud, claiming Insanul pretended to be single during their siri marriage. This move has drawn criticism from legal practitioner Deolipa Yumara, who points out irregularities. Deolipa argues that Inara, having been married and divorced before, should have requested Insanul's divorce certificate from the start.
"If Inara feels deceived, she has been married herself. She knows the marriage processes and also the divorce processes," Deolipa said via the YouTube channel Rasis Infotainment, quoted Wednesday, December 3, 2025. She emphasized that valid marriages require a marriage certificate, and divorces require a divorce certificate. "The question is, has Inara asked her husband Mawa for the divorce certificate? That should have been the first thing she asked," she added.
Meanwhile, Wardatina Mawa, Insanul's legal wife, had already reported the couple for suspected adultery under Article 284 of the KUHP, which covers sexual relations outside a valid marriage with a maximum penalty of 9 months imprisonment. "The evidence is very accurate. I wouldn't share it with investigators if it wasn't," Mawa stated in the Denny Sumargo podcast, quoted December 3, 2025.
Tania Putri explained that siri marriages are not recognized by state law, so couples can still face adultery charges. "The answer.. YES! Because siri marriage is not recognized by state law," she wrote. This article applies currently, while Article 411 of UU 1/2023 takes effect in 2026. Deolipa concludes that Inara is not a 'naive woman' and her actions suggest intentional elements, as she should understand legal procedures.
