Two confirmed dead in Tochigi house collapse amid heavy rains

A man and a woman were confirmed dead after their house collapsed in Ashikaga, Tochigi Prefecture, during heavy rains. The local city announced the deaths on Sunday.

The two-story house collapsed Friday night after mud from a nearby mountain flowed into the first floor amid torrential rains. Authorities recovered the woman's body Saturday afternoon and the man's body Sunday night.
