홋카이도의 한 산에서 등산객 4명이 불곰을 마주친 뒤 약 3시간 30분 동안 고립되었다가 헬기로 구조되었다. 부상자는 없었다.
토요일 오후 2시 30분경, 60대 남성이 해발 2,141미터 산을 하산하던 중 약 50미터 앞 등산로에서 몸길이 1.5미터 정도의 곰을 발견했다. 이후 다른 등산객 3명이 합류했고, 오후 4시 50분경 이들 중 한 명이 이동이 불가능하다며 구조를 요청했다.
경찰에 따르면 일행은 곰 때문에 고립되었으나 다친 사람은 없었다. 헬기를 이용한 구조 작업은 일요일에 진행되었다.
이번 사건은 지난해 8월 등산객이 곰의 습격을 받아 사망한 사고로 폐쇄되었던 시레토코 반도의 라우스 산이 일요일부터 다시 개방되는 시점에 발생했다.
