Polda Metro Jaya has uncovered a digital propaganda syndicate spreading hoaxes, slander, and provocation on social media, with eight suspects holding distinct roles.
Polda Metro Jaya has named eight people as suspects in a buzzer syndicate allegedly spreading false information in an organized manner. Six were arrested and two others were designated as suspects following investigative developments.
Director of Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Iman Imanuddin said the disclosure began with a legal report filed at Polda Metro Jaya. Investigators then conducted inquiries and investigations into the alleged publication of hoaxes, slander, and provocation.
The eight suspects with initials ADIK, BCK, AYV, YAP, YNI, MMAA, G, and S each carried out different tasks. ADIK sent narratives and gave briefings, BCK sent content narratives, AYV managed social media accounts, YAP and MMAA served as editors, YNI accelerated supportive comments, G offered projects, and S worked as a graphic designer.
The suspects are being held at the Polda Metro Jaya detention center. Police also seized Rp220 million from the syndicate.
