Ruto announces Ksh2.4 billion funding for county industrial parks

President William Ruto announced a Ksh2.4 billion government plan to set up common-user facilities in county aggregation and industrial parks nationwide.

The announcement came on May 28 at the Statehouse during the signing of an agreement establishing the parks. Ruto said the funding will be included in the upcoming national budget.

Each of Kenya's 47 counties is expected to receive between Ksh100 million and Ksh150 million for shared processing and packaging equipment. The facilities target micro, small, and medium enterprises in agriculture.

Ruto stated the rollout is scheduled for July 2025. The plan aims to reduce post-harvest losses and improve product presentation for local goods.
