Ruto kündigt 2,4 Milliarden Kenia-Schilling Finanzierung für industrielle Gewerbeparks der Bezirke an

Präsident William Ruto hat einen Regierungsplan in Höhe von 2,4 Milliarden Kenia-Schilling zur Einrichtung von Gemeinschaftsanlagen in den landesweiten Aggregations- und Industriegebieten der Bezirke angekündigt.

Die Ankündigung erfolgte am 28. Mai im Statehouse während der Unterzeichnung einer Vereinbarung zur Errichtung der Parks. Ruto erklärte, dass die Finanzierung im kommenden nationalen Haushalt enthalten sein werde. Jeder der 47 Bezirke Kenias soll zwischen 100 Millionen und 150 Millionen Kenia-Schilling für gemeinsam genutzte Verarbeitungs- und Verpackungsanlagen erhalten. Die Einrichtungen richten sich an Kleinst-, kleine und mittlere Unternehmen im Agrarsektor. Ruto gab an, dass die Umsetzung für Juli 2025 geplant sei. Der Plan zielt darauf ab, Verluste nach der Ernte zu reduzieren und die Produktpräsentation für lokale Waren zu verbessern.
