Ruto bestätigt Flughafenerweiterung in Matulo und Bau der Autobahn Nakuru-Malaba

Präsident William Ruto bestätigte Pläne zur Erweiterung des Flugplatzes Matulo in Bungoma und zum Bau einer 300 Kilometer langen Autobahn von Mau Summit nach Malaba.

Präsident William Ruto bestätigte am Samstag während eines Treffens mit religiösen Führern im State House in Nairobi die Erweiterung des Flugplatzes Matulo im Bezirk Bungoma.

Er sagte, die Kenya Airports Authority sei angewiesen worden, die Landebahn zu verlängern und ein neues Terminalgebäude an der Anlage zu errichten. Das Terminal soll bis Dezember dieses Jahres fertiggestellt sein.

Ruto merkte außerdem an, dass die Erweiterungsarbeiten am Flughafen Kakamega bereits zu 70 Prozent abgeschlossen seien. Er fügte hinzu, dass die Regierung Gelder für eine Machbarkeitsstudie für das 130-Milliarden-Kenia-Schilling-Projekt der Autobahn Mau Summit-Malaba gesichert habe.

Der Präsident sagte, er erwarte den Baubeginn der 300 Kilometer langen Straße im April, wenn er zur Eröffnung der Autobahn Rironi-Mau Summit zurückkehre.
