Sakaja suspends urban planning chief after EACC graft arrest

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has suspended County Chief Officer for Urban Planning Patrick Analo after the EACC recovered KSh65.3 million during a raid on his home.

Sakaja announced the suspension of Analo and the appointment of Dominic Mutegi as acting chief officer on June 5 2026. The move followed an EACC raid at Analo's Syokimau home the previous day. The EACC recovered KSh51.3 million and US$113,000 along with land title deeds and vehicles. The commission stated the cash represented proceeds of corruption and wrote to City Hall demanding Analo's immediate suspension. Sakaja also suspended the Urban Planning Technical Committee and halted all development approvals until it is reconstituted. He said the county would cooperate with investigators and that corruption has no place in public service.
