Tuplús announces alliance with Despegar for points redemption on trips

Miguel Losada, CEO of Tuplús, confirmed the new alliance with Despegar to expand points redemption options for trips. The loyalty program of Grupo Aval banks has 1.2 million users.

Tuplús is the loyalty program of Banco de Bogotá, Banco de Occidente, AV Villas and Banco Popular. It works with own-brand credit cards and allows points accumulation on each purchase.

Losada explained that Colombians participate in up to seven loyalty programs simultaneously in search of benefits. Between 60% and 70% of points are redeemed in supermarkets, restaurants and service stations.

The alliance with Despegar includes a travel portal where the average redemption ticket is 1.7 million pesos. Clients use on average 10% of the value in points, representing an equivalent saving.
